When we arrived at Glen Junor, we were struck by the magnificence of the Gisborne Gorge and Jackson Creek. It had been significantly degraded by farming.
Inspired by a monumental vision from our friend and co-owner of Glen Junor, Bageswari Raju, Jackson Creek has been relentlessly regenerated every year through the clearing of weeds and the planting of 32,000 native trees, with plans to regenerate even further with the planting of tens of thousands more trees in the coming years.
The Gisborne Gorge is spectacular and along with Jackson Creek will become home to the reintroduction of previously lost habitat that will become home to reintroduced threatened species of animals such as the Southern Brown Bandicoot.
